Celebrate Being a Vessel
It was such a sweet time of fellowship; it was a blessing for all of us, I think. We shared baby stories, laughed and prayed together. And it was especially a blessing to celebrate motherhood with such excitement alongside our daughters; knowing these young ladies are drinking deeply of the real blessing of children.
They know us, they know our failures, they know the struggles that come with devoting your life to such a taxing “profession”; and knowing all of that, they too know the immeasurable joy of nurturing the hearts of little ones and getting to be an instrumental part of their walk with the Savior.
There were 8 mothers gathered; and between us, we represented 58 children!!! How’s that for passing the generational torch!
If you know any expecting mothers, consider giving them a “blessing” shower; have everyone bring a meal she can put in her freezer, give her a foot massage, or some other pampering treat, and just celebrate the tenderness and holiness of being chosen as a vessel in which to carry a child!

Kelly, it really was a wonderful evening, and I was utterly surprised! Being surrounded by friends, taking part in positive and uplifting conversations, and eating yummy foods prepared with love–what more could a pregnant lady ask for? Oh, and I didn’t even mention the foot rub! Heavenly! Thank you to everyone who took part. It was a HUGE blessing! And all the fantastic freezer meals we get to enjoy in the coming days when the baby arrives…! THANK YOU!
