Never Say Never!

My brother calls me this morning from CO…

“Why do we do it? Why do we say things to our children that we vowed, when our parents said it to us, we would never say?”

“Do you need a spanking?”

I’m laughing so hard by now, because I am certain I just said that to my son yesterday, in a moment of parent-amnesia.

What DOES that mean anyway?

“Why yes, mother, actually I was just thinking a prompt spanking would be most helpful for my development.”

I say this too. Someone at church mocked me for it, but it’s my little way of reminding the perp that yes, I am watching, and yes, there will be consequences coming swiftly if he doesn’t make the right choice!

And no, the wording doesn’t make any sense.

LOL! :) Yes, parents do indeed at times say very strange and funny things, and I’m sure I will be guilty of this as well when I’m a parent! :)

LOL! If a child _ever_ replies that way to “Do you need a spanking?”, the world will come to an end! =D

We as parents do say the funniest things, but that will be the day when our children respond like that!
