True Power for Women
“If I cook great dishes, make them into literal works of art as I work them up in a commercial kitchen, and serve them to people I’ve never met, or will ever meet again, I am called a chef, an artist!
But, if I cook those same dishes for the ones I love most and I nourish my family in the realm of my fathers home, it is said that I am wasting my talent.”
Olivia, the daughter of one of my great friends, wrote a most poignant post today, with such great points, and I thought it very fitting and articulate. You will LOVE it!

This post sounds outstanding! I can’t wait to read it. That’s such a great point that she made. I’ve oftentimes thought the exact same thing. In the Botkin’s documentary, The Return of the Daughters, Voddie Baucham makes the point that Condelizza Rice is seen as a hero for women. She serves President Bush, furthers his vision, helps him, is submissive to what he wants done, etc. But if a daughter were to do that for her father at home, she’s seen as a poor little victim chained to her home, who is wasting all her gifts and not accomplishing anything of any importance. How absurd, and what a double standard! I think the reason it’s like this, is that the world thinks that only if you get recognition out in the world, only if you’re famous and well-esteemed by the world, then you’re successful. That, of course, goes against everything our Lord Jesus Christ teaches us in His Word!
Thanks for letting us know about this post, Mrs. Crawford!
