Parts of that quote sounded a little too much like marriage. I love the Pearls as well and was thrilled to see Mr. Pearl's articles on cloistered homeschooling. Many have accused him of being a controlling patriarch, but he has more than proved this false; he and his wife are strict disciplinarians of children, but they expect adults to be adults, standing against all the grown-children-obey-their-parents jazz. I respected them long before that article and it just added to my trust in their hearts.
