I don't think a relationship between brother and sister should hinge on HER always looking up to HIM regardless of who's older. Parts of that quote sounded a little too much like marriage.

I love the Pearls as well and was thrilled to see Mr. Pearl's articles on cloistered homeschooling. Many have accused him of being a controlling patriarch, but he has more than proved this false; he and his wife are strict disciplinarians of children, but they expect adults to be adults, standing against all the grown-children-obey-their-parents jazz. I respected them long before that article and it just added to my trust in their hearts.

Love the quote. It reminds me of my youngest daughter and my son. Even though they are grown and she is married, they are still close and consider each other to be good friends. So glad they had their childhood years to foster friendship instead of going to school and being pitted against each other.

Yes, very familiar...some of their things have blessed and encouraged me tremendously. I have been, however, disappointed in some recent things Mr. Pearl has written.

My magazine website is www.hiswonders.webs.com.

I am the girl that asked for your Siblings Relationship article.

Just wondered if you knew of the Preacher from Tennessee, Mr. Micheal Pearl. He and his wife, Miss Debi, wrote "To Train Up A Child"
Miss Debi wrote the book "Created to Be His Help Meet".

Their website is www.nogreaterjoy.org

God Bless,
Faith

I just recently discovered your blog and it is so very lovely and encouraging. Thank you for taking the time to share the things the Lord lays on your heart.
"The Family" by J.R. Miller is one of my very favorite books of all times (mine is actually titled "Home Making"). Your refresher on his thoughts pertaining to siblings is very timely!!!
