Labor Pains Are Over! (Oh, not the real ones ;-)

We’ve switched our site over to WordPress so I apologize in advance for any hiccups that may accompany your visit.  Hopefully, we have ironed out most of the glitches and you will be able to browse around with greater ease.  Whew!  I’m glad that’s over!  (It was truly like website labor pain.)  I hope you like the new look! I was trying to keep the “Generation Cedar” image but with a little softer look for my mostly gal friends ;-)

If you have any suggestions for making the site more user-friendly, let me hear ‘em!

  1. Hi, Kelly – your new look is so pretty and fresh…great choice.

I’ve wondered why some folks choose WordPress over Blogger…any insight?

Well, now may not be the best time to ask me ;-) Blogger is VERY easy, WordPress not so easy, but allows you to completely own/control your site, making any changes you want. Also, I’m told it’s better for your ranking and easier to find in a search engine (Blogger supposedly limits your ability to be found?)

I also wanted to put everything in one place and wordpress gave me more capabilities–just had to learn a lot!

Your new site looks nice. I was wondering why you hadn’t posted and I figured it had to do with your new site makeover, but what happened was my google reader wasn’t picking up your new posts! I was three behind!!!
Can’t have that happen! Everything looks so nice. :-)

Love the new look – but I’m MAD! I’ve been a “follower” of your blog for quite some time, and the last post I read/was notified about was how to “redeem a splurge” or something like that when you bought chicken out!!!

Finally had to investigate to find out what had happened to you (have baby, fall off the face of the earth….or what!). Is it too late to make an announcement on the OLD blog at blogger so all the other blogger people will at least be AWARE? I am guessing there may be others in my situation of unawareness.

So glad to see I have a lot of reading to catch up on! Love reading what you post!

    Nicole,

LOL! My suspicions were right…Google reader didn’t catch up with me. I was told it may have something to do with the users cookies? (Not the chocolate chip ones ;-)

But I have noticed quite a few Google readers who have that chicken post as my last! I will try to go to blogger but I’m not sure how I’ll redirect the reader…I’m glad you found me again! I was worried that my numbers have been a little low, but that would explain it.

Oh well…all in all we did pretty well with the switch–we didn’t lose any posts AND old blogspot links are automatically redirected. I guess I can’t have everything!
