the live pod cast idea did make me giggle a bit. Not that it won't be neat or anything if that was in your comfort zone.
We are getting ready for our 5th birth, and 4th home birth. Upon telling someone about having another home birth they almost instantly asked if we would be video taping it. I have never desired to watch myself in labor so that has never happened......although I guess there is always the delete button if I decided too;)
Updates are a fun idea and I always love to read(and write) a good birth story!
Have fun preparing for your next birth:)

Kate...

Those aren't silly or personal questions ;-) Here is the post where I briefly announced our birthing decision...http://www.generationcedar.com/main/2009/02/so-what-do-you-think-of-natural.html

But in a nutshell...I've had epidurals with 6 out of 7 (my first was Demerol), and have never had a bad experience--at all. All of the reasons I've read (and believe) about dangers of medicated births have never applied to me, unless they've done some unknown damage to one of my children I still don't know about ;-)

Which makes it a little harder, admittedly, for me to go natural. So why am I doing it?

It's a combination of wanting to experience it, and believing that even though I haven't had a bad experience, doesn't mean the next one wouldn't be. Who knows what the drugs really do to infants? Also, we have a different insurance (not really insurance--medical sharing plan) that doesn't cover the epidural, so that's an added incentive.

I love everything I've read about natural child birth and just really want to go that route this time.

Does that really answer your questions?

I Haven't been a reader for very long...so forgive me if the question is redundant, but is this your first natural birth? I am just curious what your other birthing experiences have been like? What is your personal stance on non-medicated vs medicated birthing options? Have you ever had an epidural, and if so, what where the negative/positives of it? And if you have had an epidural, what is the deciding factor on a natural birth with this pregnancy? have you ever had a bad experience with an epidural/ natural birth?

Sorry for the third degree! If you don't feel that you have time to answer these silly questions (or feel they are too personal), I completely understand. However if you have links to previous posts on the subject, I would be happy to read them :). I am not searching for a specific answer or point of view, I just have always had a curiosity about the differences in opinion that so many women have in regards to labor and how they feel it is best accomplished. Personally I have never had an epi (too chicken! lol, I am convinced a needle in my back would hurt far worse than labor...) but have had both a natural and a medicated birth, I preferred some aspects of both, but more greatly enjoyed my natural birth.

sorry for the long comment :D. Thanks :)
