“We have learned to live with unholiness and have come to look upon it as the natural and expected thing.”
This is my favorite one, although I like them all. I think a lot of Christians *not saying you, Kelly) would see this verse and attribute the unholiness to non-believers. But we have to examine our own heart first. 1Peter 4:17-18 "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and sinner appear?

My prayer is that I can be the light of the world, living in complete submission to the Lamb who is Worthy, so that His Holiness will exude out of me non-stop. Then God can use me to draw others into Him.

Belinda,

I hear exactly what you are saying! It is so difficult to keep that balance. I am praying constantly to "stand for right, be holy, and love the way Jesus loves" all at the same time.

I struggle with "Am I being holy or am I just wanting to be right?". I then feel that I am offensive and try to figure out how to stand for good without chasing away vulnerable souls. Then, I completely cower and give in to being tolerant. Oh, the slippery slope.

So much for "Fluff Soup for the Soul". Reading qoutes like these don't exactly make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, they wake you up, fuel your fire for Him. Thank you for something real Kelly. Blessings...

PS. I am enjoying your blog SO much. You will never know what an encouragement it is to me. Most times I feel like I'm swimming upstream so to speak...it's so wonderful to know that I'm not the only one. I'

Notice the difference in the worlds little sayings "follow your heart .. don't sweat the small stuff" which roll easily off the Christian tongue as opposed to the little foxes spoil the vine and the heart can't be trusted. I hope I got that correct ,but I have been thinking about this alot just lately and my daughter and I challenged each other to find some more of this conflicting wisdom . Like the difference between being PC and just being correct.

ding ding ding ding ding!

So true.

Kelly, if you get a chance, stop by the Cider Mill. I've got a prayer request, and I was hoping you and your family could lift this little girl up tomorrow morning. Thanks.
