Dawkins Blames Tebow’s “Inability to Think” on Homeschooling…McDurmon Defends
Atheist Richard Dawkins takes a cheap (and stupid) hit at homeschooling through the medium of the controversial Tim Tebow Superbowl ad.
Joel McDurmon, great friend and frequent speaker at our church, logically argues against Dawkin’s comment.
My favorite part:
“Theology–Christianity, begins in the bedroom.”

How ironic…the purpose of public school is create citizens who will fit the social norm. In other words, those who lack independent thinking abilities.
Dawkins enjoys attacking because it intimidates. If he were nice, the person might be too confidant and he can’t have that because it might make him appear wrong.
Sadly for him, he will find out one day unless he sees the light.
Here is an excellent debate. If you ever get a chance to take your kids to any of the apologetics debates (this organization is in Birmingham!), it would be well worth it. Ravi Zacharias is there frequently as well.
I really like John Lennox. He handles Dawkins very well.

Dawkins really gets my goat! His arrogance knows no bounds, but he is a very poor debater. What I find frustrating about him is that he criticises creationists such as Andy McIntish who write about biology when their scientific specialism isn’t biology …but then he goes and writes “The God Delusion”, a book full of (poorly thought out and polemical!) philosophical arguments, despite having no philosophical training at all!
He came to speak at my school when I was about 16. I went to a girls grammar school (you had to pass an exam to get in) and a third of the pupils were Muslims. At the end of his talk, he was taken aback at the number of girls questioning his atheism. The comment he made was – how can so many clever girls believe in God? That is his main problem – he can’t believe that anyone of intelligence could believe in God, despite huge evidence to the contrary! He is far more blinkered than those he criticises!
