He Has Come and Made Everything New

How appropriate.

After the planning, the lists, the bustle, the stress, the celebrations, the food, the traveling, the rushing, the torn wrapping paper–after all that is Christmas here, there is left what is really Christmas….

A freshness, unexplained.  A newness, a starting over, a feeling of second chances.

It is why He came in the first place…

…His birth to bring His death to give us birth again from our death…

…to wipe away our mess…

…to give us a fresh start…

…a hope that now all can be set right.

God’s gift to us, opened, wrapping torn–all is well.

Let the cleaning up and starting over remind us and make us rejoice!

Thank you so much for putting into words the lump in my throat and tears in my eyes as I listened to our pastor’s sermon yesterday. Romans 14. Wow! Freshness. Everything made new and clean. Even me! Yes, I am saved! Saved! Heaven came down to earth. And I am not bound by the traditions of men, but am a bondslave to the one who died for me! Hallelujah!

    Thank you! Love your blog!
